![]() ![]() I have three identical 1080P displays on my desk. "Walking" my windows across the displays with key shortcuts is my biggest pain point here of a bunch of little conveniences that add up. Easily the worst out of Windows, OSX, and Ubuntu (defaults). Luckily the OS is somewhat extensible, but I fully agree that the desktop experience feels half baked at best. Maybe I need a desktop form of Apple hardware, but lol $5999. Two monitors (using an HP workstation thunderbolt dock) seem to make the fans go nuts as well. Left port seems to make my kernel_task go crazy. My mac sits on my desk, but faces opposite of me because I want to be able to charge it in the right port, not the left. ![]() The first two months of using my mac as a desktop, about weekly I would run into the case that something wouldn't work as expected, I'd google it, and find a stackexchange post where someone is like "yeah that behavior is intentional, no way to change it, by the way I wrote this little open source tool to fix this." every mouse has some form of theses unless explicitly designed not to), but it goes past that. The most egregious IMO is no support for mouse4/5 as back/forward (seriously, it's 2020. The number of random apps that I have to install because of odd quirks that don't work like I'd want/expect. I was always a 'laptop only' guy at work, but since COVID I've used my (multi thousand dollar) MBP as a desktop primarily. So the funny thing is: I'd need a ‘sensible side buttons’ hack that does the exact opposite of this one. You don't even get the standard mouse button events when you don't install Control Center at all - then the extra buttons (on my particular older model no idea about current Logitech products) do nothing at all :( But if the program doesn't allow custom hotkeys for triggering something that's meant to be done with extra mouse buttons, I'm pretty much out of luck. If I'm lucky, I can use Control Center to set up a custom configuration for the specific application in question and make mouse buttons emulate keyboard events, then map those hotkeys to the desired actions within the application. > I discovered that the side buttons emitted standard M4 and M5 commands just as they did in Windowsīut there's no way of setting that up in Logitech's ‘Control Center’ ‘middle click’ is as fancy as that gets. ![]() Interesting! I had to deal with a related problem several times - I often want this from my Logitech mouse: ![]() ![]() ![]() He played Mike Douglas on the popular ABC sitcom, acting alongside Don Grady and Stanley Livingston as his brothers. Perhaps his most well-known role was on the sitcom My Three Sons, which reunited him with Fred MacMurray in 1960. He followed this with a recurring role as Young Gabe Marion on The Swamp Fox, a serial for Walt Disney Presents starring Leslie Nielsen. He was reunited with both Tommy Kirk and Annette Funicello on the big screen in 1959 in The Shaggy Dog, which also starred Fred MacMurray. Annette Funicello, the breakout star of The Mickey Mouse Club, also earned her own serial, fittingly titled Annette, on which Tim played Steven Abernathy. This led to a second role on the show as Frank Hardy in The Hardy Boys, acting opposite Tommy Kirk, who was also at the start of his Disney career. His big break came in 1955 when he was cast as Spin Evans on The Adventures of Spin and Marty, a serial on the hit series The Mickey Mouse Club. His pictures of Joni Mitchell, one of which was used on her “Blue” album, are marvelous.Born on December 31st, 1940 in Los Angeles, Timothy Daniel Considine, was born into the entertainment business, his father an MGM producer and his mother the daughter of Alexander Pantages, the theater tycoon. He has sold many photographs for book covers, articles and advertising. Tim is as talented a photographer as he is a writer. Someone stole his camera at the July 1956 Cal Club race at Montgomery Field he only has shots of the Saturday events. Starting with a Kodak Pony 828 camera, he took hundreds of Kodachromes. Considine started taking photographs when he was a teen-entrant at sports car races. In addition to his acting, Tim wrote episodes of My Three Sons (in 1960) and Combat and Tarzan. In addition to being a regular in TV series, he had guest shots in more than 30 episodes including Gunsmoke, Ironside and Simon & Simon. During the sixties, he was Mike Douglas on My Three Sons. Harry did, but then Porsche came out with the RS60.Ĭonsidine first became involved in racing when he was a teen TV star playing Spin Evans in Spin and Marty, a popular series on The Mickey Mouse Club. After a few outings, Gene suggested that Harry Hanford could get more out of the car. Tim had to convince his mother that the Osca was a practical car for driving to the market. So Considine bought an Osca MT4, a somewhat faster car. The problem was that Bill Pollack and Frank Aldhous were faster. Tim’s first sports car was an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider. And he couldn’t falsify his age (like some of the rest!) since he was a well-known actor. Timothy Daniel Considine was born on December 31, 1940, so he didn’t qualify for a racing license until he was 21 in 1962. But he was a car owner and entrant in Southern California sports car races. From Art’s book: “Tim Considine is the only person in this book who didn’t drive in races during the fifties. Art took the portrait of Tim shown here in April 2003. Art Evans profiled Tim in his 2003 book Race Legends of the Fabulous Fifties. There are no plans for a memorial available at this time. Tim was a Fabulous Fifties “non-board member” and could always be counted on to support and sometimes host our Fabulous Fifties’ events.
